Welcome to the studio family!
I help emerging musicians find joy and build self-confidence through exposure to various musical styles and making connections throughout life.
In order to develop confidence and grow your musicianship, you need a practice routine that brings you joy, a willingness to explore a variety of music, and a friendly support system. As your teacher, I will help you set attainable goals, develop practice strategies, foster strong musical literacy, and celebrate every milestone with you.
Weekly one-on-one lessons personalized to your musical goals. Professional musical mentorship.
Studio Policy
-
I teach students musical literacy in a positive and enthusiastic environment. My goal is to help emerging musicians find joy and build self-confidence through exposure to various musical styles. I will tailor the curriculum to match each student's specific learning needs and help them make connections throughout their lives.

Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books, music, and instrument. To make good progress, daily quality practice is necessary. Please ask questions about home assignments, so the student and their adult(s) can completely understand the assignments and goals.
-
Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons. Materials will be assigned by me, and the student will be expected to have the materials no later than two weeks after the materials have been assigned. Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible.
Students must have their own instrument to practice at home. If you have questions or would like input on the purchase of an instrument and supplies, please let me know. I am happy to set appointments to meet the student and their family to assist and make specific recommendations.

*Please note that tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with lessons received if the student does not attend the scheduled lesson times.
Tuition is based on the reservation of the time slot. Studio closures for teacher vacations, teacher sick time, and teacher performance opportunities have been factored into the monthly tuition.
All payments are non-refundable. After the first payment, invoicing and payment will run automatically on the same day. Tuition will be drawn on the 1st of each month from the method on file. All automatic payments will be run through Fons.
If a payment is returned or declined, a 48-hour window will be provided to adjust the payment method and resubmit payment. Invoices paid after the 3rd of the month will receive a $20 late fee. Recurring late payments may result in the termination of the student’s enrollment.
-
Lessons cancelled with under 24 hours' notice will not be eligible for a make-up lesson and are non-refundable. Lessons cancelled with 24 hours' notice or more will be credited as a make-up lesson for that month. Make-up lessons do not count as credit for the next month’s tuition. With notice, and subject to availability, up to 2 make-up lesson credits can be provided each term (January-May, June-August, September-December). Make-up lessons must be used within 30 days.
Lessons cancelled by me will be given as much notice as possible. Teacher cancellations outside of the guaranteed 43 annual lessons will be rescheduled within 30 days.
Planned student vacations or other conflicts communicated in advance may receive a make-up lesson credit at teacher’s discretion, subject to availability.
-
In the case of mild teacher illness, severe weather, or other conflicts, lessons may be held online via Zoom meeting. When online lessons are offered, in-person make-up lessons will not be offered. If the student opts out of the online lesson, that lesson and tuition will be forfeited. Tuition is non-refundable.
Students may also request an online lesson in lieu of their regular in-person lesson in the case of mild illness or scheduling challenges. Simply contact the teacher to request a Zoom meeting prior to the lesson start time.
-
When students enroll, the monthly tuition reserves their place in the studio for the entire term. Changes to weekly schedules may be made on a case-by-base basis each month before tuition is due.
If the student decides to pause lessons during the course of a semester, and they wish to continue reserving their lesson slot, tuition for the remainder of the semester will still apply. Alterations to this policy are on a case-by-case basis.
Fall Term - September through DecemberSpring Term - January through May
Summer Term - June through August
Please note that a student's spot will not be guaranteed for the fall term if they were not enrolled in lessons during the summer term.

From time to time, I use photos and short videos of my students in the studio, on the studio website, or in social media posts. These videos and posts are encouraging to other students and helpful to other teachers. If you do not want your child's image(s) to be used, please let me know. The students are identified only by first name.
